Catering manager retires after 25 years

Catering manager retires after 25 years

Posted: 17th July 2019

Roydon Primary Academy is saying goodbye to its longest serving member of staff this summer.

Carolyne Pretty is retiring from her role as catering manager after 25 years.

The whole school made a card and gave a standing ovation during the last assembly of the year.

Mrs Pretty said: “I began as catering manager for Roydon Primary on January 24, 1994. I have spent 25 happy years working here and now it is time for me to move on.

“I have had lots of fun times with the children and staff and will miss them all. I really enjoy seeing ex pupils when I am shopping or out and about and I hope to see many of the current children in the future. It always makes me smile when I meet ex pupils who now have their own children who attend Roydon.

“I am sad to be leaving Roydon, but have many great memories I will cherish.”

Headteacher Michael Clark said: “We are all sad to see Carolyne leave. Carolyne has been at Roydon for a long time and has done the most amazing job.

“As a school, we all wish her the best in her next adventure.”
