Message from the Head of School
Posted: 4th September 2015I am delighted to welcome you back to a new year at Roydon as your new Head of School. I feel very privileged and proud to be working with you all and look forward to getting to know you over the coming days and weeks. Last year was a fantastic year for our school and I would like to take the opportunity to thank all of our school community for the hard work they have put in to make Roydon the wonderful learning environment it is now. I would also like to thank Mrs Doyle for handing over such a great school and for her support over the past weeks.
Lots of great work has been done over the summer on our buildings and infrastructure and we still have more plans to continue improving our site and facilities. These works include a new and improved kitchen and server and a new heating system which our children and staff will benefit from.
We are also very proud of Roydon’s amazing OFSTED report and we are already making plans for how we can build on this during our journey to excellence. The report has been published and can be found on the school website.
We would like to welcome two new staff members: Ms Sandra Lockett will be our full time Office Administrator Mr Matt Girvan will be Year Three Cherry class teacher We would also like to welcome Miss Whitney Horridge who you will already know but is now Year Four Plum class teacher.
I look forward to meeting with you at the start and end of the day. I will be present at the “Meet the Teacher” meetings over the coming weeks and I will be spending plenty of time in classes, on the playground and during lunchtime to get to know the lovely children at Roydon.
Kind regards,
Ms Elliott
